VICTORIA UNITED ANNOUNCES COACHES FOR 2009 SEASON

Victoria, BC - Victoria United is pleased to announce its coaching staff for the upcoming Pacific Coast Soccer League 2009 PCSL season:
Senior Team Coach – Eddie Mukahanana
Eddie has been the Coach Education Instructor and Technical Director for Bays United Soccer Association since August 2003. He has over 6 years experience coaching and training advanced elite level youth and senior players in Greater Victoria, at Bays United, the Lakehill Soccer Association, and also as a Lower Island Soccer Association District Development Camp staff coach.
He has a long playing history at the elite levels of soccer, including 4 years playing in the NCAA and NAIA, and 5 years playing professionally in Zimbabwe, USA and Europe. He has played in the USL Professional Development League, and most importantly, is also a Victoria United alumnus.
Reserve Team (Under-21) Coach – Nick Daniel
Nick returns after a highly successful 2008 season as coach of the Victoria United (U21) Reserve team. Last year, the team won the League Championship, and was second in the 2008 PCSL U-21 division Challenge Trophy. He looks forward to another successful season.
Eddie and Nick have been on the Victoria soccer scene for a number years, and will be an excellent fit for the Club. They plan on joint open tryouts in mid-March. Details will be on the website soon, at www.victoriaunited.com.
Victoria United plays in the highly competitive Pacific Coast Soccer League, with teams in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Kamloops, Penticton, Kelowna.
Their home season starts with a double-header on Saturday, May 23 at Royal Athletic Park. The Reserve Team hosts Coquitlam Metro Ford at Noon, and then the Senior Team meets Fraser Valley Action FC at 2:30 PM.
